A carnivorous pitcher plant may seem like the worst place to live, but for this crab spider, Nepenthes gracilis is home sweet home. The patient arachnid grabs unwary insects lured in by the plant’s trap. It may seem like the plant is being cheated, but both species benefit: the spider catches more prey than the pitcher would alone and nourishes the plant with its leftovers and droppings.
