These giant beetles live in broadleaf forests in Japan, China, Taiwan, and the Korean Peninsula. Adult beetles look for wounds on trees, preferably oak, and feed on the flowing sap. They tend to congregate at good feeding spots, and males will use their horns to try and flip their opponents over and away.
